"We've had a "Taste and See"- now here is "More"
Those of us who went to New Wine again this year had a wonderful week of teaching and worship, and we would love to share more of the New Wine Bible Teaching with St James.
We will be showing a series of teaching sessions over five weeks starting Monday 4th October, in Church, starting 7.30 pm prompt (coffee at 7.15) and finishing by 9 pm.

Do put the dates in your diary, and we look forward to seeing you.

Rock Solid - Communicating the gospel to young people aged 11-14
This will commence from Thursday 16th September at the Eaves.

We are planning to start a Group for 11-14s and will be using the Youth for Christ Resource - Rock Solid. This is very activity based with short discussions/teaching on aspects of the Christian faith or issues young people face. There will be Lots of games to introduce a topic or teaching point. It will run fortnightly 7.00pm - 8.15pm. (The autumn term dates are as follows: 16th September, 30th September, 14th October, 11th November, 25th November, 9th December.)

Myself and Bridget will be leading this, with the help of other volunteers. We would greatly value your prayers for this. Many thanks, Ruth.

 Catering for Sunday Services
A big thank you to all who have provided cakes for the young people
following the evening service.
We would be so grateful if you could continue with this. In the Vestibule there is a diary where you can put your name against a date that would be convenient for you to provide these. If you would like to help bake or even help to serve on a Sunday evening please speak to Jan Pembery.

 Children

Jesus places an extraordinary high value on children. Here at St. James we try to do the same by including them as much as possible.
Following the worship time at the beginning of the service, we invite all the children to the front for a special ‘kids talk’. Please feel free to accompany them if they are a little shy! Then Pre-school to 14yrs go upstairs for Sunday School (J Squad).

There is a soundproof crèche at the back of the church for babies and very young children and someone will be available to look after them if you wish. Alternatively, if you would like to stay with them the service is relayed through an audio link. (All our leaders have CRB disclosures

Leprosy Mission

Thank you for continuing to save your used stamps for Leprosy Mission. I've noticed that they also collect postcards (GB and foreign, posted or unused); coins and bank notes; (so if you have any money left over from your holidays abroad etc. they could put it to good use) cigarette cards (only people of a certain age will know what these are!!!); old matchboxes; and medals. So -- have a look in your drawers and lofts and see what you can come up with!! Marion Allen.

A “loop” system is available in this building. Those with hearing
aids should switch to “T” setting to make use of this facility.
