Welcome to our Morning Service

July 12th 2020

Morning Everyone. As usual here is the isingpop session that we are recommending for this week
Here are a couple of songs before we begin our service.
Please watch the welcome video below.

The collect for today:

Almighty and everlasting God,
by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified:
hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people,
that in their vocation and ministry
they may serve you in holiness and truth
to the glory of your name;
through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Let join in with this worship song

Let’s take a few moments now to allow God to show us where we have not lived up to his standards and expectations. Let’s pray in our own hearts and then we will join together in the prayer of confession.

Lord God,
we have sinned against you;
we have done evil in your sight.
We are sorry and repent.
Have mercy on us according to your love.
Wash away our wrongdoing and cleanse us from our sin.
Renew a right spirit within us
and restore us to the joy of your salvation,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

May the Father of all mercies
cleanse us from our sins,
and restore us in his image
to the praise and glory of his name,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Parable of the Sower
“That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying:
Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:18-23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Now please listen to our message for today

Lets respond with this song

Our prayers today are led by Robert

To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6

As we come to pray let us spend a moment to reflect on what God has been saying to us.

We pray for the Church that all God's people may set their minds on the Spirit so know life and peace.
We remember those around us, friends and family,........ that they may open their hearts to the word of God, the seed that brings life.
For Church leaders,  locally, nationally and internationally …...that in these times of crisis and stress, with important decisions to be made, they may set their minds on the Spirit.
Lord in your mercy
Hear our prayer

Let us remember our brothers and sisters in Christ and all going through difficult  times: ........
For those living through, not just the consequences of the Corona Pandemic, but natural disasters, conflict, persecution and displacement and for  those supporting them ..... for strength,  peace and wisdom, and locally for the work of GARAS.
Lord in your mercy
Hear our prayer

Let us pray for all leaders, national leaders and international  …......in this crisis time.
May they know that true and peaceful wisdom that comes from above.
Guide them to make wise and right decisions not only for their country or region but for all, now and in the future.
Lord in your mercy
Hear our prayer

More locally let us continue to remember those working for the NHS,  Care, Schools and other essential Services,  their families and the families of those for whom they  care for......that they may be given the support, material and emotional they need.
For those coming out of isolation and those returning to work that they may have wisdom to know what they can do and the confidence and peace to do it.
That those who have lost their jobs know peace and patience as they seek new ones,
Let us especially pray for Bream School, staff and pupils especially  as it goes through a time of change and Bream Early Learners as they get a new building this summer and for all the planning and opportunity that will bring and for the extra resources needed.
Lord in your mercy
Hear our prayer

Finally let us remember those who mourn...... at this time that they may know the Spirit's life and peace in a special way.

Merciful Father
Accept these prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let us pray the Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
Now and forever.

Amen

For our final song ... the great Hymn .

No Zoom Coffee today. Let’s instead grapple with the ways we want to honour God by sharing his Kingdom with others ... lets be honest about the obstacles we face in our own experience and help each other overcome ... in Jesus name ... AMEN
