Welcome to our Morning Service
June 28th 2020
Morning Everyone. As usual here is the isingpop session that we are recommending for this week
A couple of songs to warm your soul….
Please watch the welcome video below.
Now lets worship together with these songs
Let’s take a moment or two to allow God to show us where we have not lived up to his standards and expectations. Let’s pray in our own hearts and then we will join together in the prayer of confession.
Lord our God,
in our sin we have avoided your call.
Our love for you is like a morning cloud,
like the dew that goes away early.
Have mercy on us;
deliver us from judgement;
bind up our wounds and revive us;
in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
May God who loved the world so much
that he sent his Son to be our Saviour
forgive us our sins
and make us holy to serve him in the world,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Shorter Collect for today:
God our saviour,
look on this wounded world
in pity and in power;
hold us fast to your promises of peace
won for us by your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
Phil will now speak to us
Reflective prayer: An old song but definitely an appropriate prayer for our times:
Prayers led this week by Keith
Let’s begin with a short time of silence so that can make our own supplications to God.
Father we praise you for continuing grace and love for your people in Bream,
During this pandemic we ask for continuing protection and compassion for those we love and serve as your church.
We pray for Her Majesty the Queen and for her government and opposition , guide them and the experts in the decision being made concerning Covid 19.
We pray for those suffering financial hardship, unemployment and needing the help of benefits and food banks. Approximately one family in four in the Forest at this time.
We ask for your guidance in these extraordinary times , as our government responds in exactly the same way as those confronting the Black Death in the 14th century.
We continue to pray for the mission of our church , although we are not meeting together we continue God’s work, we pray for the Archbishops, the Bishop of Gloucester and for Chris and the Deanery and this church’s leadership team.
Prayer for the sick, for those grieving, may then know your healing hands and compassion.
We conclude our prayers again with a moment to reflect and then say the Lord’s Prayer together.
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
Now and forever.
And now our final song
So, let’s pause as we come to the end of our time together.
Father, Praise and Honour unto thee!
Bless us as we go out into the world, that we would be wholly the people you have made us to be, equipped and enabled by you, Holy Spirit.
Let’s say the Grace together: May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all, evermore . AMEN
