COGS aka Home Groups

We strongly believe that it is super-important for Church members to meet in midweek groups. These are groups where we can enjoy closer Fellowship, study the Bible and the preaching, Worship together. The groups are also there to enable outward-facing activities and Prayer.

We call them Cogs because they are not just Bible-Study groups, they are an integral part of the Church and are designed to involve all parts of Church life in microcosm.

 

The Message translation of Ephesians 4 gives a beautiful sense of how the Church should be, and we believe that Cogs are a part of this:

He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.        The Message
